Chibamba Kanyama is an award-winning communicator with global experience. Chibamba joins The Communication Center after serving as a Communications Advisor at the International Monetary Fund. Chibamba’s twenty years of professional accomplishments include experience as a journalist, television personality, financial advisor, economic policy advisor and published author (Business Values for Our Time (2010); Achievement Values for Young Adults (2011); Determinants of FDI in Sub-Saharan Africa (2012)). From 2012 – 2014 Chibamba was the Director General of the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, overseeing network initiatives, outreach and planning. His other previous positions include working as the Director of Corporate Affairs at SABMiller/Coca-Cola -Zambia and as the Corporate Affairs and Marketing Director for Zambia State Insurance Corporation Limited. Additionally, since 2004, Mr. Kanyama has been a business columnist in Zambia’s leading newspaper (The Post). His philanthropic work includes being the Founder and Chairman of Teen Vision Trust Zambia. This successful organization hosts annual ‘Creating the Future’ conference for nearly 2,500 youths, and it mentors over 10,000 young Zambians in areas of business, finance, personal development and careers. Chibamba’s many academic accomplishments include being awarded the Chevening scholarship by the British Government in 2000 – 2001 to study MSc Development Finance at the University of Reading. Chibabma earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Economics from the University of Zambia. He is a graduate of the Accelerated Leadership Program at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership SAB Miller Plc University of Cambridge. Chibamba now lives in his native Zambia with his wife Eneless and their four children, Victor-Amedzo, Chisaya, Mutinta-Telma and Chibamba.
